Research Centre

ICAS is committed to supporting and encouraging high quality research that is timely, relevant and useful to the accountancy profession in an international or UK perspective.

Research is funded by the Scottish Accountancy Trust for Education and Research (SATER), which focuses on research that is relevant to the public interest and the accountancy profession or business. To this end, research proposals are invited on issues of broad relevance to the accountancy profession, both within and outside public practice.

Research Development Programme

The Institute is committed to supporting and encouraging high quality research. Our Research Centre organises activities that support and encourage academics in their research and we would like to identify academics who might benefit from attending the ICAS 2010 Research Development Programme. Our two-day Programme of events is aimed at early career academics and PhD students.

We will be hosting the Programme and a number of Professors will be on hand to discuss your proposals or more fully developed pieces of research. In addition, the Programme will include:

  • an opportunity to present your research ideas to one of our team of academics and receive individual feedback

  • ideas on how to plan your research and how to get it published

  • a talk from Guy Jubb, Head of Corporate Governance, Standard Life Investments, on the issues facing his working life and how research may assist

  • a session on how ICAS supports and funds research by working in co-operation with new researchers

  • what it means to undertake an ICAS research project.

For further information on the event, please view our Programme

If you would be interested in attending this event, please email:
research@icas.org.uk - by Monday 4th January 2010 at the latest.
