MAJOR CONFERENCE ON FINANCIAL FRAUD HEARS THE NORTHERN IRISH EXPERIENCE OF TERRORIST FINANCING 17 October 2006

 

The top policeman who set up the Royal Ulster Constabularys Financial Investigation Unit will talk about his experience in investigating the financing of terrorist organisations. Now an independent financial crime consultant, David Thompson will speak at the CA Business Courses Fraud Conference on Wednesday 8 November.

 

Making the keynote address is Graeme Pearson QPM, the director of the SCDEA, the body leading efforts to tackle hi-tech crime, money laundering and serious organised crime. The conference will also hear sessions on personal and corporate identity theft, e-crime and examine some of the measures available to combat fraud as a whole.

 

Chaired by Bill Cleghorn CA, the conference is open to all those with an interest in learning the latest methods of detecting and preventing fraud, accountants, auditors and their professional advisers.
